Video Diary #4: School Starts TOMORROW!!!

Wow... The last two days went by in a flash!  There is always so much to get done to prepare for the students.  Last night we had the meet and greet, which was very successful because I had 9 students (about half) show up with their parents!  Lots of the kids were really excited to come back to school.  My neighbor teacher told me that she saw one of my students running excitedly to my classroom (20 minutes early before the meet and greet actually started) and leaving her mom behind.  And another student gave me some birthday gifts (a homemade card, hat and bracelet) because she knew that it was my birthday the other day.  I feel like I could still use a whole week more to set up, but ready or not... here they come!  Look forward to seeing my little monkeys tomorrow!!!!!

Video Diary #2: Back to School Letter

I wanted to film this entry because I got my annual "Welcome Back" letter.  We start on Monday and today is our LAST official day of summer :( I'm happy that I will get to see my students again though... miss those guys! Not looking forward to the busy/crazyness that is coming, but its coming ready or not!  This school year we have two "teacher work days" and two admin. days.  I could use a whole month of teacher work days and still not feel 100% prepared.  My classroom is mostly set up though, so at least I'm pretty good there and since my class is 90% the same students, I feel pretty prepared (since I already know them all so well). Guess that's a benefit of looping. See you in the classroom next post! :)

Video Diary #1: Introduction

This is my first EVER blog.  My first entry was made the day that I got my GoPro (which also happened to be the 2nd to last day of summer vacation... waaaahh!) from Michael Cawdery and the awesome Leeward CC faculty. Such cool things are coming from Leeward, especially in the teaching program & I'm super excited to see the outcomes of them all.
