Video Diary #7: Catching Up With EVERYTHING!!!

It sure has been a busy few weeks.  I'm sorry that I have been somewhat MIA since my last post in the middle of the first week.  Things got pretty crazy that week when what I thought was the middle of the week ended up being the end of the week because school was cancelled due to the impending hurricanes.  It ended up being even more stressful being out (to go to my brother-in-law's wedding) during that time than it usually is to be out, especially since I got kicked out of school early, the copy machine was turned off, and school was cancelled.  The hurricanes majorly messed with my plans, and made the students pretty silly.  I ended up having a really nice trip to Connecticut & enjoyed every moment, although I worried about school often.  Now that I'm back I have a lot of work to catch up on with grading, finishing up things that I didn't get done in the first week and starting on all new curriculum.  All the stress/extra work is totally worth it though, and I especially felt that way when the kiddos welcomed me back from my trip and told me how much they missed me. :) Hopefully see you soon-ish!

Video Diary #6: Middle of the First Week of School

It's hump day!  This week has been sooooo busy and I am constantly feeling like I don't have enough time with the kids to get everything that I need to get done!  I forgot to mention that I have to take a few days off next week to attend my brother-in-law's wedding in CT, so I'm also worried about leaving the class & about planning my lessons for next week! :-/

So far I am enjoying my class a lot and even though the dynamics have changed a bit from last year, it seems to still be a very sweet bunch of kiddos!

Video Diary #5: First Day of School (Morning and Evening)

Hello all!  Today was the first day of school!  The day just FLEW by sooooooo fast, it was unbelievable! I had a great day.  The students were so excited to be back and it was really nice to see their happy faces again.  I got a feel for how beneficial looping can be.  It was so nice to have the kids come in this morning and already know a TON about each of them!  It was so nice to see that many of the students picked right up from where we left off two months ago.  I was worried about regression, but I am happy to say that I was very proud that my students were on track today! It was a very busy day, but I had a great time.  Only bummer was that five students (out of 19) were absent, so I'll have to spend some extra time on Monday reviewing some things we talked about today.  Oh well.  Happy Friday!!!
